Hi guys.

My friend's wife wants a aquarium in her home but she wants her husband too take care of it :mad2:......

Anyway, I have a 5 gal available and I decided to give it to her as a gift....it comes with lights and filter(no heater)...

Now seeing he's gonna be the one that's gonna take care of the tank, he asked me what fish could he get !!!!

So I need to know what fish can he put in a tank with no heater.....I suggested ~ 5-6 male guppys !!!

Any idea/comments would be appreciate it.

Thanks.

Guppies really do need a heater to stay at optimal health. I'd invest on an inexpensive one. Also, I'd cut back on the guppies to maybe 3-4 and maybe have some shrimp or snails.

Hmmm. As long as the house is warm, you could do a single male betta. Or a trio of male guppies.

Just get a cheap heater and a betta. Nothing is better at being hardy than a betta.

I've never had luck with Betta. A single dwarf puffer would work. Great little fish.

Really? That's odd...don't dwarf puffer require live/frozen food and many water changes because of their messy eating habits? Probably not the best since its for a beginner.

any nano fish i would think
