hardy fish?

Hi,

Some hardy fish are Three-Spot Gouramis, Bronze Cories, Zebra Danios, Bettas, Guppies, Platies, and many, many others.

Cory Lover

Well, gudgeons are as tough as they get, but I doubt you can get them everywhere in the US.

But all fish, even the 'hardy' ones, need good water conditions. Neons and other tetra can be more sensitive than some. Some Rainbowfish are pretty tough. Goldfish are tough, but you wouldn't want many in a 55g... Only a couple maybe 3 smaller tyes, otherwise it's hard to keep up the maintenance - and they get big. Peppered cory are not bad. Gourami are okay, but like most fish they can't take much of a nitrite or ammonia spike.

You really just need to look at fish you like and then make the tank a nice place for them. You can't really just get tough fish and then think that means you don't have to do much... Or you are likely just worried about getting fish that are too sensitive and take special care.

It's still more your choice...

guppies are probably the hardiest, pearl gouramis, danios, many tetras like red-eyes, pristellas etc. just make sure and stay away from neon and cardinal tetras as they are some of the most delicate fishes availible

good luck

zebra danios, platys, mollies, sowrdatils, and black skirt tetras are pretty hardy.

stay away from blue, opaline, three spot, gold, and platinum gouramis, as they are all the same species and an aggressive one at that. those fish can take anything you throw at them, but they are just to aggressive for most community tanks.

depending on tank mates a paradise fish is a super tough fish. They can be tough on weaker fish tough.

Sorry

My GF posted a thread instead of asking in hear.

Any ways.

Are Jack Dempsey or Red Tailed Barbs hardy, aggressive or anything like that?
And can you put them together in a tank?

a jack dempsey will eath anything in the tank...unless of course you put it in with mates that are around its site...bu if you're asking about a community tank, the answer is no. most everything will be eaten by the dempsey

bettas, goldfish, and zebra danios are the toughest i've found. common plecos are near indestructable, too.
