I have a school of 10 bloodfins in a 33G tank and I've been perfectly happy with their schooling. They do not, by any means, school at the time; they seem to do it the most during the evening or, of course, when I'm mucking around in the tank. Even when they aren't schooling they're interacting with each other though in groups of two or three.
