Hey guys,

So I recently stocked my 20 gallon long FW planted tank with 9 harlequin rasboras. It was probably about 3 - 4 weeks ago. At first, everyone seemed fine and they were spawning all the time. The last couple of days, though, it seems like everyone is picking on everyone else. They are chasing each other all over the tank. Slamming into each other, picking on the smaller ones. I'm pretty sure one of them got injured and just died today. I see one of the males chasing a lot of them around, and then a female will get fed up and chase him around... and so on and so forth onto to the next fish. It's driving me insane. I got them because everyone recommended them as a good community fish, but watching this is more stressful than enjoyable. I'm pretty sure the only small one left is about to die too. I don't know what to do. Please advise.

Complete Tank Mate List:
9 harlequin rasboras (now 8, probably soon to be 7)
1 bolivian ram
1 oto cat (had 2 for over a year and one just randomly died)
shrimp

My water levels have been very stable and remain the same as they were when I set up the tank:

77 degrees
ph: 6.6
kH: 2 dkh
gH: 11 dkh
nitrates: 0
nitrites: 0
ammonia: 0

They used to just swim together and get along. Then, they started spawning pretty frequently, and now this. Help!

I would increase your female to male ratio. Trade a couple boys for girls and see if that helps. Maybe there are not enough females and the males are fighting over them.

I don't think it is male/female ratio. I have never had that kind of problem with these peacefull fish. Sounds like they are stressed. What are the symptons of the sick fish?
