I've gotten a hold of a 29 gallon tank and I am thinking of using it for tiger barbs and harlequin rasboras. I'm a little worried about the tigers being too rough for the rasboras, though. Has anyone here been able to keep them together?
If so, what size schools of each would you consider to be optimum for this size tank?
Thanks for any advice!

I would skip the tiger barbs. A tank with a variety of different rasboras would be a very peaceful and active display - for example 4-5 each of the harlequins, red-stripe rasboras and Scissor tail rasboras. Or mix the harlequins with some tetras. maybe add a trio of cories. Tiger barbs really are at their best with 6 or more in a roomy tank where they can zip around. Have fun!

Harlequins are great. I'd skip the tigerbarbs as well. If you really must go for barbs...maybe some cherry barbs but even those can be nippy sometimes. Still they are pretty cute :)

I would have to agree with the above. Tiger Barbs will end up picking on the Rasboras to much. As in the last post they said cherry barbs, I wouldn't go this way myself. I did at one point have this mix of fish and the cherries picked on the Rasboras to much. Now I have had Gold Barbs with Harqlins and they did great together. Gold Barbs are pretty active and like to be in small schools also but are very fun to watch. Just my 2 cents for you.
