Harlequin Rasboras w/ Sparkling Gouramis

LMAO! More nice suggestions. How about licorice gouramis? The only downside is they're picky when it comes to foods preferring live and frozen stuffs.

See Freshwater Article Corner for articles of sparkling gouramis and licorice gouramis.

I definitely like the Honey Gourami as well.

So I have lots of fish supply options (more than 3 LFS within 5 miles!) - and none of them had the sparklings.

I actually requested them months ago when this tank was a paludarium and they promised to get back to me within one week if they could get them - but they didnt call for two weeks. By then I'd already gotten the Harlequins. I enjoy the Harlequins and didnt want to turn them in - here I am in Sept. and that LFS no longer has the sparklings. Bummer. I dont want to ask them to order them again unless I can pay upfront, I dont want them to think I'm a total flake!

I might just go with a honey - but it just seems like they're less healthy usually.... am I wrong here? I read they are pumped up with hormones to make them more "beautiful".

/\ Best avatar, ever!

Back on topic, I'm a big Dario Dario fan too and plan on adding them to my new tank.

However, I just googled sparkling gourami and they're very cool looking fish. Now you've got me interested in them!

If I were you, I would just go back back and ask them to order more. Keep going back in there over and over again until you get them. The people at my lfs probably think I'm a flake, I'm in there 3-4 times a week always bugging them for something!

Good luck!
