Has adding salt to the water eradicated my algae?

Does anyone no whether salt and heat eradicate algae? I am currently treating my tank with heat and salt because a few of my fish have Ich. This is the second day of the treatment and I am noticing all the algae but a few tufts of on the driftwood are gone. I do have 3 SAE's, 4 Ottocinclus and one Bushynose Pleco, But I have had the Ottos for 2 months and the SAEs and Pleco for 3 weeks and there was always plenty of algae to keep them all busy, but now it's 80% gone from plants and the sides of the tank.

Could be that increasing the heat stimulated the appetite of some of your algae eaters. I'm not sure if salt and/or heat would directly hinder algae growth.

Your thoughts about fish having increased appetite is possible and I agree with that.:)

:iagree: I treated my tank the same way once and there was no change in the algae. Instead I had a plant die off... nearly lost all my cabomba and many crypts melted.
