Has anyone else experienced this?

My seams appeared this way initially when I first added water but upon inspection it seemed to have dissipated. Just a couple of spots here and there.

Oh, Ummm, sorry, what I meant to say is that there is definitely something wrong with your sealant and I recommend getting rid of it as soon as possible, in fact I collect ummm, defective tanks, and so I'd be glad to take it off your hands before something disasterous happens!! I'll go ahead and PM you with my address, don't worry about shipping, I'll take care of that for you.... ;)
:D

I have heard of plywood being used under an aquarium to provide a solid, flat surface but 3/8" foam seems to introduce a possibility for instability. Is this a proven approach?

a lot of times if the surface that the aquarium is on is mostly falt, but not perfect, (ie. a very slightly bowed metal stand) some people will use a thin layer of foam to set the tank on, it acts as a 'filler' for the spots that aren't perfectly level, ive seen it done many a time without problems. the aquarium is so heavy that it will compress the foam to a state where it may as well be solid, as long as youre not using something exorbitant like an entire inch of foam or something.

of course, a surface that is perfectly level and flat is the best way, though.

Thanks for the offer Boofish - but it's a new tank and it will be returned to the store for full credit before I sell it for a loss.

If that is a Top Fin I would be careful, I had one bust on me in less than 12 hours out of the box.
