Has anyone ordered plants from EBAY?

How long can a plant survive without a heat pack?
Will it totally kill the plant or what happens?
 
I've ordered Windelov Java Fern from aquaticmagic on ebay.

Shipping was cheap, but very slow from Malaysia.

I ordered in the summer and got the plants, great portions and plants but all the leaves were brown and ended up dying. The rhizomes were healthy though and all put out nice new leaves. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

There are a few FL,AZ,TX sellers when you ebay search "live plants" but like i said, prices arnt that great.

I appreciate the advice. And believe me I support the sellers here, when they are selling what I want to buy:). I just wanted to know what people expirienced when making a plant purchase from a seller on Ebay, in case I do decide to purchase something that otherwise is unavailable here. Again, Thank You:thm:

I'm a lot more comfortable buying from other members here than from strangers on auction sites. I've done both, but the quality is always better and the portion size is more generous here.
 
I won't buy live stuff from the Malaysian sellers. I'm afraid of the time in transit, and import stuff. I did buy a nano CO2 diffuser, which took quite a while to arrive, and then didn't like it. *shrug* It's not their fault, though, that I didn't like the way it diffused. I've bought plants from pet_n_smiles, and while the plants showed up a little... hmm... spindly... they have done a nice turn around and are growing. His java moss showed up mostly brown, but I tried to save it. No such luck. And a couple of plants didn't show up at all, and when I mentioned this he told me that it was because of a freak ice storm in TX that killed them before they were shipped, and refunded my money promptly for those plants. I've also bought from planted_aquariums_central, also known as Chambers3530 on Aquabid. Her prices are a bit higher, but the plants are mostly rooted and show up in nicer condition than petnsmiles. They are, however, taking a little longer to establish. Possibly a serious difference in our water params. I just ordered more from petnsmiles, even though I didn't like how they showed up initially, figuring from previous experience, that they would come out of shock sooner. We shall see! I keep looking at planted_aquariums_central's shrimp! She's got some nice green lace guys that look cool. I'm just a bit broke until my refund comes, so I have to put stuff like that on hold a while. I haven't ordered any from Aquabid, yet, though it looks like some great deals there!

How's that for a review? :):):)
 
i just got stuff from aquatic magic on ebay prices good, some of it got a little battered in transit but should pull through he has a good rep!

i orderd plants from him nov.16 still havent showed up
