I'll just use crushed coral sand as the substrate (with maybe a sock of it in the filter) and some holey rock in the back, with the rest covered in shells.

I'm lucky in that I also just spotted a guy on craigslist selling off his multi fry, so I'm going to contact him and see if I can get his info, since I imagine he'll still have fry to sell in a few weeks if these are as fecund as suggested above.

What are your GH and KH readings? pH is far less important and as long as your water is high in dissolved solids and will maintain a stable pH exact levels shouldn't matter...
