Have I reached my limit...

What type of filter are you using, and do you know the gph....because that will help to know. You will definitely need to find the pleco a new tank, it will get a foot or more if housed propperly, otherwise its growth will be stunted and it will suffer, plus their poop factories!! :D I would also suggest moving the guppies, livebearers are hard to control, population wise. I would say assuming your filter is adequite, then its safe to add the 2 cories (dont forget to take out the pleco and probbably the guppies). Another thing, you can "overstock" kinda(to a point).....as long as your filter can handle it, and you dont mind doing more/more frequent waterchanges...and the fish arent "cramped" and running into each other or overly large. Just my opinion :D

sorry i have no idea what gph is :thud: but as i posted above i have 2 power filters running: one whisper 10 (again, it's going to be replaced this week by an aquaclear 150 - up to 30 gallons) and one penguin bio-wheel mini (up to 20 gallons)

regarding the livebearer's fry (ies), i already know some fish/pet stores where i can take them to.

thanks everyone for your inputs! ;)

:idea2: One solution to your inevitable over multiplying is to use your new babies as feeders for another tank.
I do this with my convict fry. Once they get free swimming, I feed them to my Oscars and JD.

BTW, GPH means gallons per hour....generally speaking it is the amount of water your filter filters in one hour.

lol

let me tell you how i ended up with the feeder guppies i have now. someone told me to feed my turtle with them, so i bought ten of them. my turtle ate a couple of them and then i removed them from the tank because i could not deal with it.

but thanks for trying to help me... :o

regarding the gph thing... again, i have no idea :embarrased:

just to add some info that was missing: one filter filters 150 gph and the other one filters 100 gph. they're both running in the same aquarium, a 20 gallon long.

lol, Chrisinha. I did that once with those same convict fry. I thought they were small enough to feed to my Cichlids. Much to my surprise, 3 of them were able to find enough hiding spots to avoid being ate and matured into adults.....one even wound up being netted and used as a breeder for an extra male I ended up with....she has since died, but not before providing me with several batches of fry. More of less what I did was catch the two males that survived and put a mature male I already had in the tank with her. THe raised mortal hell in the tank when they laid eggs, but their fry were eaten within 3 days. 3 days later, more eggs......Convicts.........gotta love em.
