Have you ever been to an ocean?

I've seen the Atlantic once on a trip to MA. I live in a coastal state, but the ocean is still 4+ hours away, so I've never been to any beaches here.
 
Thanks for replys. I was trying to explain to my kids that not everybody is as close to the water. Some kids have never seen a sunrise/sunset over the water.

12 hours from a beach, but I have still been to one.
 
both coasts and the gulf. Live about 90 minutes from Ocean City, MD, and about 1000 feet from the Chesapeake Bay
 
Two blocks from Long Island Sound. Been ocean to ocean, crossed the Atlantic 8 times, Border to border (Canada and Mexico) and seen a lot of the US in between. Either lived in or passed through about 35-40 states and 9 countries. Went hiking in the Appalachians and the Rockies.

Having seen many breath-taking things, I would have to say everyplace has it's own beauty and it's own ugliness. For me, home is where I make it be. Just depends on what you want to see or the perspective you want to take. Everyplace is what you make it.
 
I've been to and in the ocean many times.
 
The only ocean I haven't seen is the Arctic....but maybe someday.
