Hi everybody! for the last 2 weeks i've been dropping about a tablespoon-1.5 of fish food in my 150 gallon aquarium as a way to kick-start the cycle. i tested today, and to my surprise, its still at 0 ppm. any other techniques i could use? (besides ammonia and with fish)

1.5 what?

with a tank that big, i would dose with ammonia instead of fish food to get the bacteria going. or go the easiest and fastest (but more costly) way and use Bio-spira

Buy some clear ammonia at the grocery store. Do not use the sudsy ammonia. Add the clear ammonia til you get to about 20 ppm.
