I am having trouble keeping my Kuhli Loach from going under the UGF is there anything i can do to keep him from going under there? there is plenty of structre for him to hide in, i don't understand how he is getting under there in the first place.

and if it can possibly get through the substrate....the UGF is closed on all sides....no chance for getting in unless there's a pebble holding up a side....
There is an inch of gravel on top of he ugf but he still finds some way through... I checked to see if there was a pebble holding a side up an there isn't?
you may have to use another form of filtration if you're keeping kuhli loaches... i'm pretty sure its not healthy for the loach to be living under the UGF where all the decomposing matter are collected... there are also other purported shortcomings of the UGF... fry may actually be sucked under and plants may not grow as well. so if you plan to breed fish in the future or keep live plants, another form of filtration may be a better option.
but of course some might say that this form of filtration have had bad publicity because fish store owners want to sell more expensive canister filters.. i guess its up to you to decide based on the various articles and experiences available on the net.
