Hazy Tank and white fuzz on Mopani wood

Hi guys,

Well my 90 gallon planted tank is pearling like mad and I've got my CO2 cranked to 30ppm to get everything established, but I've got a strange problem. The water is a slightly cloudy white color, but I can still see though the tank end to end. I thought it may have been the mopani wood leaching tannins, but it is more white then yellow. I also threw a carbon pad into the filter to see if it would clear up but no such luck even after 36 hours. It only happened once I added all my plants. I have a fluorite substraight, but that always settled overnight, so it has to be something else. There is also a slight film on the surface of the water. The tank has only been set up a week, 3 days with plants and no fish. I'm also not adding anythign to the water. pH if 6.7 and GH is 5 with CO2 of 30ppm.

The second odd thing is this weird white growth on the mopani wood on the underside. It's not alot (yet) and it looked nothing like algae. It looks more like the type of spider webs you see in a bunch of bananas. I scrapped it off and it was really quite fibourous. I'm totally baffled by this one so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Not sure about the cloudy water, but the white fuzz isn't anything to worry about.
I've had it on a couple pieces of driftwood in different tanks.
It'll be harmless to any fish you want to add and will eventually go away. I have heard that some algae eating will eat it if you want it to go away faster. Not sure exactly which ones though.

Any fish in this setup? I'm inclined to think the plants interupted your nitrogen cycle and the bacteria had a little die off. Should clear up within a week.
White stuff is harmless fungi.
Grab a paper towel or napkin and let one corner or edge suck up some surface water where the film is. If it's green/blue-green, it could be cyanobacteria. Didn't have any lotion/chicken wing sauce etc. on your hands when you where in the tank did you?
