Still trying to determine how many of the kuhli loaches here survived the mystery death issue. I'd like to locate them without completely completley tearing this tank down. I still only see three of them. Is that even possible?.

I'm seriously regreting putting new hidey fish into my heavily planted tank if that is the case. No aswers makes me think that is that case. Didn't think they'd be dying like this in an established planted tank, which I thought was like the ideal type of setup.

Don't know anything about kuhlis, and just learning about my zebra loaches. I have a severe outbreak of Ich in my 37, and I have been trying to get a head count on them. Even after removing all of the plants (recommended for ich treatment) I still can't get an accurate count because every time I move one rock or piece of driftwood, they all run to another. Hope your luck is better than mine finding them

That's the thing....I've never had a a really nice planted tank like this and I don't want to tear it all up. I wish there was another way to determine how many are alive and if any more have died. I wish I stuck those new KLs in my empty ten gal with a bit of gravel and the filter to avoid new tank syndrome and one good hidey cave.

PIC of my tank on MFK under same name...My female betta and the whole tank looks like that.

Not such a bad idea though I've only seen one going up to the surface to eat the bloodworms I put in.
Oh well I'll try it tahnks.

Picky lil guys and gals. Ok, so I remembered I got this frozen brine shrimp for my featherfins and never remember to bring it over...So I gave them a piece and they are ignoring it.

Unfortunately I don't have any sinking pellets here. Have some on order that haven't come yet.
At least I finally saw four together...so only one is now MIA.

OK, I think I have an idea how to keep track of them...Get my cam battery that I forgot at parents' house, recharge battery, take pictures of each KL I see sitting in front and compare them like wild animals.
Here's hoping their stripes are different on each fish. Once I've found five differently striped KLs...I'll know all are present.
