healthy convict?

My friend has a convict we are starting to get a little worried about. She won't come out of her cave. Evidentally she is eating, because the worms he puts in are disappearing, and she looks healthy. she did recently (about 2 months ago) lose her mate(he died) but she has shown no signs of illness.
He had me come over and test the tank for him, everything tested fine, except the ph is at 8.0. is this too high?
any ideas, maybe this behavior is normal?

I would check to see if there are any eggs in the cave. Just because she doesnt have a mate doesnt mean she hasnt laid eggs. If her colors have gone drab them more than likely thats the problem imho
