guys what gets hotter VHO or Metal halides?

reason i ask is because i have a all on one system it currently has 3 lighting fixtures to suit std flouecent (spelling) which has 1 Actinic Blue, 1 50/50, 1 white However as you could imagine its not enough, all though the heat is minimal which is great.

another question now
should I just add another 2 std Fluorescent, blue and white, whould this be substancial? or should i bite the bullet and get VHO's? Metal halides i think may be to hard to creat into my fixture, but if they run alot lesser temprature i will have to find a way i suppose.

by the way the tank is reef.

flourescents are diffused so the heats less concentrated in one area like matal halides both get pretty hot.

what size tank? what types of corals you plan on keeping?

tank size 75g
corals I am undecied i recently found a website that shw the corals low light and med - high etc so still a little undecided. Ultimately i want to walk into a shop and say yup i like that, and then buy.
but realty is that is not the case. :(

MH would be the best lighting im sure but being that i have a slim canopy that is metal MH will be awfully hard to customise into it. where as i could prolly get another 2 Fluorescent or 2 VHO's but i am still worried that the VHO's will heat the syetem up to much!

just go with 4 vhos that will allow you to keep most corals.

the icecap 660 is a good ballast.

and if your worried then just make a new canopy isnt that hard to do.
