Heater bad? Pics inside

Saw my one heater not looking good so wanted everyone's opinion on it.





If you think not good and to replace please list what you recommend for a 125g turtle tank!

Looks bad to me. No good ideas though, I don't know turtle requirements or big tanks either. Maybe 2 smaller heaters or an inline from a canister filter?

Yep that is bad. A component is fried on the board. Do not use.

I agree to discontinue using it. I'm not sure what kind of turtle you have, so I don't know how warm you need it. . . But I think its usually between 2.5 WPG and 5 WPG for most things. So, if you want one of the same 400 Watt heaters you have right now I would suggest sticking with the same brand. I've never had much of a problem with Hydor and you can get a cage to go around it to protect it from the turtles.

It looks cooked almost to the top. Does it still heat and cycle on/off? Regardless, I'd stop using it.

Yup, replace asap! How full is the tank? Or How many gallons of water are you actually trying to heat? I've never had a turtle but if I did I would like the piece of mind of having a durable heater, like a stainless steel one or a protector at least (for the heaters sake AND the turtles). 3-5 watts per gallon.

Yea still heats surprisingly... tank is 125g, she is a RES adult so we keep it around 72-76 degrees. I have another heater in the tank (always best to do two, you guys already know that lol) I forget what brand though.
