I bought a Hagen "Elite" Mini Submersible heater 5 (25 watt) for my 3 gallon eclipse tank. It's worked very well for keeping a steady temperature, but it seems to produce this annoying buzzing noise when it's on/heating. It's the same sort of sound my electric stove makes when I turn a burner on... but a bit louder.
Has anyone else had this experience? I've only had the heater since Tuesday and I still have the package (although I've lost the receipt), so I might be able to return it. I just want to know if this is a common thing with heaters and something that I might still encounter with a more expensive brand, or if I just bought a piece of crap.
If they all make that noise, then I guess I'll just put up with it, but it's kinda grating on my nerves. :irked:
