Heater infiltration

I've noticed an increasing amount of moisture in my submersible heater over the last few months, and today I even saw a drop running down the side. Do I need to fix this before it becomes a problem? If so, what should I use to reseal the opening? It's a high-wattage submersible. Thanks.

Personally, I'd chuck it, and get a new one..
I'd get a Visitherm Stealth.

I know just enough about electricity to stay away from it. So when I saw one doing that, yrs ago. I unplugged it. Waited 10-15 minutes. Took it out and through it in the trash.
