Almost everything. One of my titanium heaters thermostat went haywire and thought that 100F was 78F and by the time we figured out what was going on all the fish were dead or dying and the big crabs and snails were gone. We moved the yellow tang to the 29 to try and get him to hang on but he died and took the royal gramma, percula and a green chromis with him. the only thing still alive in either tank are small hermits and the skunk cleaner shrimp from the 29.

Now that I've gotten rid of the offending heater, are there any known bcteria, diseases etc that high heat can contribute to? If I begin to slowly restock the tank will I be wasting my time? Shoould I strip down and start over?

My tank was about 5 years along and the clowns and the tang had been around from the beginning.

ya I had a heater malfuntion that killed fish to, thats why its always best to invest in a good heater and have an extra on hand, and if possible, 2 with half the wattege you need on both sides of tha tank

Sorry to hear about your losses. Can't really plan for that sort of thing although I have two very old heaters that I'm going to change now.
