I have 2 heaters for my 35 gallon freshwater tank. One is a 150 watt ebo jager heater, the other is a 100 watt Tronic heater, which I prefer only because it uses actual temperature settings on the guage, as opposed to the the ebo jager which is marked with numbers 1-10 on the guage. I know that this is a better heater, and I'd rather use it than the other, but i can't figure out how to set it. does anyone have this type of heater? any tips on how to use it properly?

thanks!

I think the consensus here is that Ebos and Tronics are both equally good, quality heaters. The instructions that came with one of my Ebo-Jagers says:

“Set the adjustment knob with a coin to guide number 5. This setting is approximately 24C or 75F."

Good starting point, I guess.

edit.... adding the balance of the paragraph from instructions:

"Plug power cord into an electric outlet. Form a drip loop between heater and outlet. Run heater for about 24 hours at this setting. Keep a regular check on the temperature. At the end of this period set the temperature you require by using a coin. The numbers on top are guide numbers, 1 is the lowest temperature setting and 9 is the highest. Each line is 1C or 1.7F. The burning of the control light shows when the heater is heating”
