What is a good heater? I have used 2 heaters in my 90gallon & the first one heated up the tank to about 90 degrees. I bought a new one to replace that one and now the new one won't shut off. The first heater was Aquael 200 and the other one is a Jebo Odysea 300. Are there any heaters reliable for this size aquarium other than the Jebo or Odysea? (Both of these heaters end up falling off the glass and floating and there's nothing I can do about it.)

Ebo Jagers-I haven't have one failed in the 7 years that I've had them.
Visitherm Stealth-I just recently purchased one and my only complaint so far is that I can't easily tell if it's on or not because there are no indicator lights.

I had an Ebo Jager, too, for years. it worked great until the glass cracked (i probably tried to take it out of the water while it was still hot) and it started leaking electricity into my saltwater tank, ow!

I'm going to go with a Visitherm Stealth, myself, on two of my tanks very soon. I have heard the lack of a light is a little annoying (but then it wouldn't be called the "stealth" would it?) but that they work perfectly. not a degree of fluctuation is what i've heard. plus i like how they're plastic, so unbreakable and less hot to the touch than glass.

 Be advised, anything electrical or mechanical is subject to failure. The longevity of the part is increased with the choice of brands of high quality. I've had success w/ this one http://www.bigalsonline.com/BigAlsU...aquariumpharmaceuticalsrenacaltoplight100watt . I've heard good things about the 'stealth' by VisiTherm but have yet to check it first hand. There are a number of 'quality' heaters on the market. Just steer clear of 5.99/7.99 bunch. Although there are still some to be had, the old Ebo Jager is pretty much history. The new Jager (made by Eheim) is suppose to p/u where the old one left off. Good Luck

I have a Rena Cal, the one in Tony's post. It's OK, but there's still some temp variation. Like it doesn't turn off very well when water temp goes above the set temp (during heat waves, summer). It is better than the less than $10 ones, tho.
