Heavy Filtration question

I have a 75G with an Oscar, a Green Terror and a Sailfin Pleco. I am currently running 2 350 Magnum Pro cannister filters. There is a lot of waste that accumulates on the bottom of the tank between the weekly 50% water changes, and I need some help.

I was thinking that I would like to divert one of the OUTAKES of a Magnum 350 so that it is pushing flow along the BOTTOM of the tank. The hope would be to keep the waste moving to one side of the tank where it would then be sucked up by the INTAKE on the other side. Thoughts?

Thanks for the link and info. I actually had the reverse of what is explaned in mind. I would like to suck things UP from the substrate, so the INTAKE of the pump/filter would have to be right up against the substrate.
