Heavy flow...

Well I am making a tank designed to flow like a river it will have a strong current in it I was wondering If any of the fish I have in my other tank will mind being moved to a tank with current... basically do these fish mind strong current?
pictus catfish, cory cats, ropefish(this on is the one im really wondering about), common pleco, upsidedown catfish. Thanks for any help.
 
Well I am making the tank hopefully tomorrow. Won't be putting the fish in for awhile. Once the tank is done I will post pictures.
 
I'm not sure about the upside down catfish. It might be too much for him. The rest of them should be fine.

i agree, he looks awkard when swimming any way and i dont think he will be great in their, the rope fish should be fine i think as he is a strong swimmer
 
hmm, if you have some driftwood or something for him to get behind he should be fine until he adjust to the new current. Can't wait to see the picks, should be really cool!!

Are you doing it with powerheads or what? And what are you doing to prevent back flow when it reaches the other end of the aquarium? What size aquarium is it again?
 
That looks awesome. If you use powerheads, maybe you can set them on a timer, because even salmon can't swim like that all day except when they're trying to spawn.
 
Well see they wont need to be on timers because the fish are normally in stream and rivers they have instincts that tell them to go to the side of rocks were the current comes back around do to the shape of rocks and drift wood and either slows down, stops, or pushes back against the rock.
 
wow, thats a great idea.. I would love to do this, but unfortunately I plan to have lots of live plants in my 90g.. that would probably not work out so good with live plants in there.
 
Hum see I wanted some live plants but I was thinking I would probably need some plants the really have a good root system but I am really not to sure since I really haven't used live plants before (tried walmart bulbs didn't grow though). Any Ideas?
