I have a 55 gallon tank that untill a month ago was setup as saltwater. A/C went out lost everything. About $1,200 fish rock and coral. Oh well live and learn. I have changed the tank over to fresh water now. 100 lbs of fine river sand(pebbles). Levels with the help of slate. I have purchased the following which should be here Thursday:
OZELOT SWORD 2
HORNWORT (BNCH) 6
CORKSCREW VAL (IND) 30
DWARF LILY BULBS 16
WISTERIA (BNCH) 4

A lfs has some miniature lily pads in there display only tank but do not know where to get more. They are about 24" tall with 2" pads and 1/8" thick stems. Any Ideas?

Also I am wanting to add the following fish:
Congo Tetra 2
Emperor Tetra 2
Red Phantom Tetra 2
Kribensis 1
Turquoise Rainbow 2
Celebes Rainbow 2
Australian Rainbow 2
Synodontis Catfish 1
Green Severum 1
Sailfin Molly 2

Not sure about the Mollies as I know they need a bit of salt to really thrive.

What order should I add them? And considering the plants and filters would adding 2 every 2 weeks be to fast or about right?

I have an Odysssea Light left over from the salt setup consisting of 2 blue actinics and 2 white 10,000K. Bulbs are 96 watts each. Used for a month before the A/C went. It also has the four blue led moon lights. Looking to add 2 TetraTec PF150 Power Filters with the internal heaters.

Also does anyone see any problems with anything I have listed?

Suggestions?

Thanks for reading, and for your replies.

Rainbowfish will interbreed with each other causing hybrids. A lot of people get rilled up about that.

You seem to be making a collection of fish instead of setting up a tank that is best for the inhabitants.

I would recommend that you get more of one type of tetra, and one type of rainbowfish.

I have also heard that Mollies live much longer and healthier in brackish water, but I have never owned one.

Also I would suggest that you get your plants firmly established before introducing any fish. Be sure and dose trace minerals and the like.

http://www.barrreport.com/ contains the best possible information available to succeed with a planted tank. For $13 a year you could have more detailed information than you could think possible.

All IMO of course.

Good luck!

Minature lily pads i.e. Aponegetons and numphaeas come out of Sri Lanka and are presently rare to find because SL has closed it agricultural borders. There are some around though so good luck. If you find some, please let thePlantMan know.
