Hi, I'm new to this forum, so I thought I would introduce myself.:hi:
I am a senior in college, and I haven't kept tropical fish for about 9 years. When I was a child, my family had two tanks set up: a small 10 gal and a large 50 gal. Unfortunately, my dad did most of the tank maintenance, so there are a lot of things that are fairly new to me about setting up a tank and keeping it running smoothly. But, I am doing my best to learn.

I kind of have to re-learn very quickly, since my friends surprised me with a betta in a bowl for a gift. It took me about two weeks to realize that a tank is way better and easier to work with than a bowl. So, I bought him a small (1.5 gal) tank and started learning everything I could about doing a fishy cycle quickly. I have two small cories in with him. :D

Any ideas and advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

PS: A big THANK YOU to whoever started Aquaria Central, and to all the people who work hard behind the scenes to keep it going. You guys all do a great job!

I recommend you read some of the "stickys". These are located at the top of the forum pages. Those can be instant information at your fingertips. lots of helpful information in there.

good luck to you. we're all here to help.

Welcome to AC!

I go to school at a small Christian accelerated college in Indianapolis. The program is usually about two years long to get a bachelor's degree. I'm doing it faster, since I transfered in. I'm originally from the Philadelphia area.
Thanks for the welcome!
