I am kinda new to the brackish aquarium and will most likely have periodic questions about fish that i come across on the internet labled as "brackish". I am finding alot of fish to have controversy as to wether or not they are fresh or brackish. Yesturday i traded my cichlids for a mono argentus and a red eye puffer. i already have an argentus and a sebae, but the argentus i just aquired isnt like the other....it has a sebae anal fin(very long and curving forward at times) and its dorsal fin changes from yellow to red at the top.

never seen one like it nore has my LFS, any info??

second question, are red eye puffers fresh or brackish??? LFS had it shiped as a brackish, had it in a brackish tank and now i have it in brackish. it seems to be doing great, but i have read that they are freshwater.

please help me, i cant seem to conclude anything

thanks all:wall:

Hello..........:welcome:

Sorry about the terrible intro lastnight...if i may, i would like to start fresh.

My name is Jordan, i live in Northern Ontario, I am 21. I started out with aquariums when i was 16 with a 55gal cichlid tank, with approx.(i know it was over stocked...now) 25 various peacocks, auroras, redXreds, and convicts.

I then invested in a 35gal for 3 pirhanas that were given to me, and another 35gal for local fish and mud puppies and cray fish that i caught off my dock.

I then got bored of fresh water, so i looked into brackish (don't feel ready to tackle a reef). I now have a 55gal with a mono argentus, mono sebae and 2 columbian sharks. I tried a knight goby, dragon goby, a figure 8 puffer and a silver scat but they got killed by the argentus.

I also have a 25gal with my new mono A./S. (still not sure what it is) and red eye puffer. they both seem to be doing great.

thank you all for this beautiful resource and friendly community.

Jordan
