Hello everyone,
I just joined this forum because I have many questions and experiences I can share with everyone that cares.
I just started off with one 5 gallon Eclipse hex aquarium and 2 convict cichlids.
One male and one female.
Bought 2 more convicts, one pink and one more stripped.
So far I have one male and 3 females.
I seperated the pink and male into one hex and 2 females.
It's been 2 months and I have 2 females with about 50-80 little ones and the one male that fertilized both spawns.
Very interesting because each time the females were ready to lay egg sand showed thwir egg tubes the male was in the other tank. I would switch the male over and he would fertilize when the eggs are layed.Then the pink one showed it's egg tube and I switched the male into her tank and they fought till she layed the eggs and they hatched 3 days later!!
So from 4 to over 150 convicts im getting an overload now.
I just got a 40 glass tank for free from a friend and bought another 2 tru vu 40 gallons so i'm up to 5 tanks.
2 eclipse 5 gallon hex
1 glass 40 gallon
2 tru vu 40 gallon tanks one long and one tall
If anybody is interested in pictures of them let me know.
