Hello Everyone,

I have recently joined and I am including a few facts about my fish keeping experience.

I have been keeping and breeding tropical and cold-water varieties for 35 years.

Currently, I have 49 tanks in my fish room (seperated from the house). 12 by 500ltr; 12 by 200ltr; 24 by 100ltr; and 1 by 2000ltr. Additionally, I have 13 outdoor ponds each of approx 2,500ltr capacity.

I breed both cold water and tropicals outdoors in summer and generally raise the summer "crop" in the fish room during autumn and winter and sell off the excess stock prior to the next breeding season.

I generally grow all of my own live food (eg micro and white worms; brine shrimp; mosquito larva etc).

Cold water varieties include exotic goldfish (orandas; ranchu; pearl-scales) and tropicals include Australian Rainbows (Melanotaenia species); various Tetras (Characin species); some South American Cichlids and live bearers.

I also "dabble" in the propogation of a variety of tropical and semi-tropical TRUE aquatic plants.

Goood fishkeeping to you all.

Cheers ... John
