Like others doing the intro, have been lurking off and on for a few weeks, and taking the next step to dive in and say hello.
55 yr old, single mother of a 35 yr old son and 29 yr old daughter, both grown and gone from the house, and I recently become a grandmother.
Recently lost my other animal companions to old age, both raised from babies 4 weeks old….my magnificent Akita dog of 13 years, and a scrappy little rescued cat I had for 21 years. My daughter decided I needed some life in the house again, and for my birthday I received a 2.5 gal bowl with a fish to go in it.
Never had a fish before, but when he lasted more than a few months, I got him a much bigger home , 29 gal. . Several weeks later, I got him a friend. They are both Red Cap Orandas and so far getting along swimmingly well. Eventually I hope to add one more to achieve the mandatory “ 3 little fishies”.
