Hello From Virginia!

Welcome to AC!

Thanks for the welcome!

Nice to see some familiar fish in a much bigger pond.

Here are pictures of some of my tanks:

Oooohhh..I didn't know you keep goldfish! How many goldfish do you keep aside from the three shown in the picture? I'd love to see your orandas if you have some.

Thanks, guys!!!

Lupin -- we have 14 goldfish total. Right now, we have some in a 55g (keeping it going for a short body flowerhorn when the weather is warmer to ship), some in a 75g (they will be joined by those currently in the 55g), and then three each in 2x 29g's. I know the 29g's are small for three, but they are over filtered and I do 2x week large PWC's. So hopefully that will keep working because I really love having them in our bedroom, since they are so pet like! We have three orandas if I'm counting correct. Most of ours are ryukins (my faves). I will try to get some decent pictures. My fish photo skills are horrible :(

I don't think keeping 3 fancies in a 29g is all that bad as long as the tank is properly maintained. It's better than stuffing singletail goldies in there. 2-3 would be the max I like to recommend for that tank size.

I'd love to see your orandas. I keep mostly orandas but at the moment, they only comprise nearly half of the number of the goldies I currently have. Here's hoping I might get 5 more new ones and when the new pond is up, I'll focus more on orandas.:D

That is good to know! We just love the fancy goldfish and yes, I am diligent about the tank maintenance.

The tanks also each have a Penguin 200B (with Bio-Wheels and SuperCartrdige non-disposable bio-media in them) and either a Top Fin 30 or Aqueon 30 (with ReeFresH2O / Cell Pore bio-media). I add carbon once in a while, but have the filters running the large surface bio-media stuff at all times in both filters (each has two). It's working good but when I say "three fancy goldfish in a 29g tank", I feel like I need to do a disclaimer about filtration and 2x a week large PWC's. LOL!!!

It's great to know there are some hard core goldfish enthusiasts here!!!

Thanks again for the warm welcome
