hello! got a question :)

Is it green? I can't really tell exacly what it is from this angle a front on view will help if possible also a pic of the underside if you can manage.

I don't think it's an emerald crab. I think there carapaces are a little more pointed. looks like a young shore crab or something.
 
Fwiw, the rear legs look too flat as well. I'm not sure that it's a shore crab not sure what it is at all if you could either get a bit closer or give us a more detailed description colour etc. it would help us to figure out if it's an emerald, harmless crab or something that you'd want to return to your local marine centre.

This is prolly the best I can do, he gets ticked off when I poke him and turns in to a little square rock. All balled up, tough shell.

He's almost a dark brown color, with red eyes it looks like. He's prolly been in my tank for 2 years now. I've made no changes in that time. I assume he came in the live-rock. He's prolly an inch or so, maybe a little bigger.

I'm going to name him The Rock.

Well, what ever he is if you've had him for two years I'd keep him if he hasn't been involved in any umh...... mysterious deaths etc. If he is a shore crab he's a great scavenger . lol, wouldn't you get a little testy if the giant finger was poking you ;)?
