hello all, first Q on here so please be gentle with me :) ,

right i have a weather / dojo loach, i know they have a habit to disappear under the gravel but mine disappeared for a month then all of a sudden just reappeared, so the next time it disppeared i didn`t think much of it but this time its been gone for over 3 months, it hasn`t jumped out because its a tight tank top and its not around the tank anywhere, it did`nt turn up when i cleaned the tank 2 days ago, where has it gone? do they hibernate

many thanks

ta for a quick reply, it wasn`t in the filters as i cleaned them too, but there there was only one item i didn`t take out and clean , little monkey was under there, cheers for that . all happy again :)

just so you know, tropicle fish shouldnt hibernate in your tank - if they do, it means your temperatures have went dangerously low, and your fish are half dead.

Most loaches are nocturnal, so he probably comes out during the might, and hides in the night.

are you sure you have weather loaches? Mine are highly visible. Never hide except to sleep. Usually seen hanging or flitting around the tank. Up to the surface for gulps of air and back down to chase each other looks like this:

hi , long time since i`ve been here, it seems like my loach got himself a decent little set up under a rock i have in the tank, he does seem to come out at night more around 6-7pm but also comes out for food first thing in the morning, he does seem happy enough
