Hi Guys - I am the new kid in marine aquarium. You guys are great and I am beginning to love this forum. Just converted my 72G Freshwater into salt. Hv AMiracle Wet/Dry Filter & Aquamedic Turboflotor Skimmer. Ended up using tap water - treated for chlorine etc with Nova something fluid. hv everything as per spec except phosphates at 2PPM. Been using CoralLife Phosphate remover last 3 days-still phosphate level seems to be the same.
Any tips?

The phosphate test kits are hit or miss. Depends on which one you get.

I've had great success with RowaPhos (or PhosBan from 2little fishes) and a phosphate reactor (2 little fishes one about $30). The good thing is this will not leach back into the tank when spent.

Get a RO unit to filter your water. Or if you are desperate, let your tapwater sit overnight, the chlorine will disipate by then. I did this for years before getting a RO and getting into corals, but I didn't have a problem with phosphates in my tapwater.

Looks like the phosphate problem is fixed so all I have to add is "HI"
