Hello al you beautiful Aqua people! Im returning once again to this site since the fall of 2006(i think) i actually forgot how long its been since i've sold my tank. i miss it so much i actually wanted to cry when i went to my lfs
perv:i still got it!) today to see what they had. my father told me that, that strip of shops on the block are shutting down so i guess i'll have to travel 10 mins more to the second closest LFS.
My previous set up was a 20 gallon, forgot what they call it... it wasn't tall... it was the regular one, freshwater community tank. i remember keeping barbs, cute little honey gouramis, black skirt tetras as well as neons, a few tiny marble angels and the always fabulous Guppy! i had some fancys too which had babies but never survived. and the loaches. who could ever forget. i loved my loaches. only one died and the others were gifts to other aquarist which in whom i planted the passion and beauty tree. my first set up was a faithful and the longest lasting set up i've had. it was a 10 gallon goldfish tank... i received it as a gift from my parents friends who didnt want to care for fish anymore. it was a whisper filter that did about 120gph.
i used a penguin biowheel 150 for my 20 gallon. they're good power filters but i personally didnt enjoy owning them... i've always hated aquaclear filters but loved it when my friend gave me one from his permanent teardown.
this is getting long... so yea. i come back to join you folks in my passion and pursuit of beauty. i hope my stay is welcoming and helpful. i totally forgot my previous usename...
i just wanna share a couple favorite pix and of my own!
this is what i want to have one day.. beautiful beautiful green healthy oxygen producing java moss
heres a pic of my beloved apple snail ohh how i miss him so. my first and only. i loved him. he went through the teardown of my 10 to the rising of my 20. he didnt fair well in the hands of the second owner... i loved playing with him.
i think this is the only pic of my 20 gallon.... atleast part of it. i just check my folders... the other pics are on my crashed desktop. i loved to aquascape using glass's. i used three crystal glasses to hold plants and such. also better for photosynthesis. on the left side, you can see an iridescent shark. i had a group of 6. the largest one was about 6 inches.
the photo sucks due to the lack of a digital camera. this was a cellphone cam.
another shot of my apple snail...
thanks for taking a look! hope to see you around!
