Hi...
I have started my first large tank (55 gal) and I am super excited. The tank has cycled and I have moved my fish who where unhapply living in a 6 gal to the 55. Let me tell you, I put my little Kissing Gourami in to the 55(the first to be release) he booked it across the tank, got to about where he would have to slow down for the six, (if a fish could look confused he did) with out missing a beat he sped back up to crash 3 seconds later in to the side of the tank. turned around and dashed back to the other side... he was one happy fishy! The others were all freaked out and hid. My kisser has been through a lot, my mom who was watching my fish for me while I awaited moving in to my new house sucked up my kisser into the gravel cleaner poor thing came out bruised his face was all red and such.(very happy fishy now)
I do love all my fish, but the kisser is my fav. I want to get someone for him to pair with but i am really really freaked that they might hurt him. He is special you see, he only has less than 25% of his tail fin and is not the greatest of swimmers, hence why I affectionally call him "Nemo" When I introduced a dalmatian molly it proceeded to chase Nem around and around the tank poor thing was all stressed out when the Dalmatian finally stopped.(they are good buddies now)
