Today my new lights and powerhead came, i had to move my filter to mount the legs of the lights which is too bad because it is blocking the tank view.

Anyways when i turned the powerhead on it shrunk my hammer corals a lot. I made a video, is this too much flow for them in the tank? It seems so... I dont know where else to put the powerhead. I have now turned it off. Can someone help Please...

Yes, in a way you are correct. It is not too much flow it is just pointed towards them a little much. In a reef tank you want high turnover with low velocity. Try pointing that powerhead towards the front glass so that it can be deflected in a couple different direction and I bet your corals will be much happier!!

thanks jojo that helped a lot, there is still good motion with the hammers but not too much.:)

Glad to see everything worked out, now how about a happy hammer vid???

might i add you have very nice colorful fish, especially the chromis

HEHE Almost like I said!!

i did not think too much about positioning when i set-up the tank so the filter will not fit on the back. But i am getting rid of it and hopefully the protein skimmer i get will fit fine, if not i am going to creat a sump or take it apart and move the tank. Thanks, i love the chromises, a very under rated fish i think. Jojo i will make another happy hammer vid just for you buddy, just give me a minute.

Your tank doesnt look that big, could you and a buddy scoot it out when you have the water level down during a change??? I scooted my 72 bowfront 2 inces to fit my HOB skimmer all by myself.

Yeah i think next week when i do my water change we are going to move it out to fit the skimmer and hopefully the filter. My tank is only 33gal so it can be done. Here is another video with some commentary.
