I know I seem to ask alot of questions on here.... but, I just find all of your help so wonderful...

Anyways, yesterday I went to the petstore and bought 4 danios and 1 corycat... I was showing my mom some guppies and platies that I wanted but I said I'd wait for another week or so before I got them.... I got home, and put the bag in my tank to let the water get to the same temp in my tank..... then my mom came home later on with the fish I told here I wanted...

Anyways, I did put all of the fish inside my tank... so here is what I now have at the moment:

2 dwarf gourmis
8 zebra danios
2 cories
4 rasboras
4 guppies
2 platies
4 mollies

I tested the water just awhile ago and this is what I got:

Ammonia- 0
Nitrite- 0
Nitrate- below 5

With having add that much fish to the tank yesterday, I'm abit worried that the levels might go all crazy on me again.... if they were to, when can I expect them to??

I was thinking about going away for a week starting this coming Monday, and I dont want my fish to get all fish... and the water levels to go all crazy on me while I'm gone again.... so, should I just not leave this coming week?... Or will the water be ok without any water changes or anything for 7days??

Also, I was wondering if next weekend would be an OK time to add a pair of angelfish??...

If anything is going to go wrong, I would expect to see it happen with a day or two. I would keep testing your water and make sure nothing spikes. If you are all ok on Sunday, I would say you're fine to go out of town. Just do at least a 25% water change with a gravel vac. before you go, rinse out your filters in tank water to get out any extra crud. AND INSIST THAT NO ONE FEED YOUR FISH WHILE YOU ARE GONE!! They will be fine for a week. If you are really worried, put a small amount in a baggy and ask that someone give them only whats in the bag on Wed. or Thurs.

Angels may not be a good idea, there might be conflict with the gouramis, and your guppys might disappear

I would add 4 more of the corys you already have, and maybe a couple more of some of the schools you have and consider the tank full, you'll have alot going on in there!

You have a 70g tank right? And you added 11 fishes total yesterday? With the size of the tank I think you'll be fine, since the tank is cycled it shouldn't take long for the bacteria colony to grow to accomodate the added bioload. You may see some ammonia and nitrite readings after a couple of days but I doubt it'll be at the danger level.

Yeah, after adding the guppies I really feel as if I really shouldn't have gotten them...

The angelfish that I did see are just babies... really small, so I don't think that my guppies will disappear right away, atleast not until the angels get big enough... and I'm thinking of buying myself a 10-30gallon tank that I could keep in my bedroom... so, I think the guppies would look very nice in there...

And I'll tell my mom this time to only feed them on Wednesday, and put it in a bag so that she knows the right ammount to give them... =)

the bigger the tank for your room the better. They are easier to maintain and give you alot more stocking options, and usually aren't much more expensive in the long run. A 10g is really limited on stocking.

Well... at the current moment my bedroom is in the basement.... so, getting a bigger tank for my bedroom would be hard work to haul buckets of water up and down the stairs.... my 70gallon was originally suppose to be for my bedroom... but after finally getting it into my house I realized how huge it was.... lol and heavy too... so I just moved it in the living room...

Plus, I'm moving away for College in like a year... so, I'd like to be able to get a smaller tank that I'd be able to take with me... leaving the 70gallon back because would just be too much to take it with me... when I have my own place someday then I'll take it...

I've noticed that on my silk plants in my tank the other day that there is like.... brownish spots on them.. just little small ones.... and i was just curious as to what this might be??... I was thinking maybe possibly rust or something?
