I left for a few days and came back to discover my Java Moss inundated with a stringy green algae. I have a Rubber Lipped Pleco but he can’t seem to keep up with this algae problem. My thought is to remove the moss, salvage what I can, remove all rocks and scrub them thoroughly, remove my piece of African root wood and scrub it thoroughly too. I have already turned my light timer down to 11 hours/day vs the 13 hours/day at which it was previously set. If anyone knows an easier way to handle the situation, please share.
EDIT:
I do not use CO2 I use a supplement called Flourish. I have 2 Java Moss and 3 Java Ferns. My fish include 1 clown loach, 2 german blue rams, 6 neon tetras, 3 bleeding heart tetras and 1 rubber lipped pleco. it is a 29 gallon tank w/ an eheim 2213 filter; temp is 80-82 F, ph 6.8, gh 0; kh 2; all other levels are proper for a freshwater tank.
