I bought 3 white juv angels. one died yesterday, and two (which are in 2 different tanks) are both not swimming well, lost their balance.
What could be wrong? readings are all fine, one tank just got partial water change. ph is a bit high, would that do it?
i used seachem stability but it has not got it down to 7 yet.

what was the pH before you used the chemicals on the water? Also.. what made you decide the pH needed to be adjusted?

got up to 8.8? was this in an established tank? what is your tapwater reading after sitting for 24 hours? how many times did you test it?

I had the same problem after adding a few new fish to the angel tank. the largest angel started acting strange and the next day started swimming in circles upwards and losing balance. I have since discovered it is because sometimes adding more fish can lower the oxygen level in the water to dangerous levels by over taxing the filtration system. The solution is to increase the water to surface circulation and aeration by adding a power head or an air pump.

Hope this helps.

Although havnt heard much about Whirling Disease (WD) of Angels lately, look into it.
Last I heard of or WD was common were about 2 or 2-1/2 decades ago on massively produced farmed angels but not locally captive bred? Perhaps due to shipping stress???
That's when I bred and distributed quite a bit locally.

Shouldve condition the tank before obtaining to avoid such extreme conditions.
Although some may survive exposure to extremes, approproate preconditioning of water is A must for any fish, IMO.

Hope better outcome in the future!

Did you QT the fish???
List your water readings and tap water readings?
Was the fish from a local LFS, I would go back and see what is going on.
