Help i have a serpae tetra with a popped out cloudy eye my ammonia is at 0 nitrite is at .3 ph is 7.5 GH is 17 ( I live in an area with very hard water but have had the tank running for 8 months ) KH is 7 we have also had a number of fish disappear and a green tiger barb with the same eye problem and died. The tetra is in the hospital for now... we do weekly 20% water changes once a week on a 110 g tank. Should we treat the tank with antibiotics?

have you ever tried aquarium salt?
and bump up the temp a bit

it sounds like your tank just went through a mini-cycle, and probably killed the tiger barb and gave your searpe pop and cloudy eye. if it has both your water is probably worse. what are your nitrate readings?
a stable pH, KH and GH is better than one is fluctuating to get it into the "desirable" range.
you need to get the nitrite to 0, and very clean water should fix the problem.

don't add salt unless you are treating for a specific disease that salt is recommended for, like ich.

do a big, fat wtaer change.

have you changed out filter cartridges recently?
