HELP! Bettas fins are disintegrating!!!

Do you do the water changes by taking him out of the tank? It's best if you siphon off the water that you want to remove, and then add back the temp matched, treated water. It's less stressful to leave him in the tank than to net him out each time.

My Brochs had just enough water to cover his back each time I siphoned off water in his hospital tank. He wiggled around but he was fine and less stressed.

I don't do water changes by taking my Betta out of the tank. Instead I use the method you described.

There is a filter on Fred's main tank but not on his hospital tank (because the only types of filters that would work on the tank are carbon and sponge and carbon would remove the meds and I don't have a cycled sponge).

EDIT: I added a filter with just filter floss to the tank to at least make the water clearer.

Well Fred seems to be doing better. I have already exceeded the recommended number of treatments of medicine which is five doses over five days (yesterday was the sixth dose) so I will give Fred one last dose tonight and then tomorrow I will use activated carbon to remove the medicine.
