I have a blue gourami that has become very bloated over the past several days. It is bloated right behind the head and it has been hanging out near the surface. It won't eat. I've noticed it has long strands of milky poo hanging from it often. My water paramenters are:

PH 7.5
GH 14 dH
KH 2 dH
NH3/Nh4 0 ppm
NO2 .3 mg/l
temp 76 F

None of my other fish seem affected and this came on fairly quickly. Is there anything I can do for this poor fish?

Scales sticking out making it look like a pinecone?

Also Nitrate and nitrite readings with Ammonia readins....

Have you added anything new to the tank recently (fish, plants, live food)? It sounds like parasites to me, but it is hard to tell from the description.

bloated

None of the scales appear to be protruding and the gills look fine. I haven't added anything new to the aquarium.

How do I treat for parasites?

Can you get a nitrate test kit? I wouldn't start treating for anything until you get the nitrites down to 0. Bloat is usually caused by bad water conditions, and at least one of your parameters is off. I would address that first before assuming you need to medicate for parasites.
Take care,
Mary.
