I put my two blue gouramis in a tank and didn't' know they would breed so fast. I should have fry in a couple of days and am wondering, as soon as they are developed, or born, can I buy some brine shrimp and hatch them myself and feed it to them or get the liquid fish food? infursio or whatever? Will that work? I don't really fancy growing micro-worms and don't know if I have enough time so what should I do? Also how will I know when the eggs are in the bubble nest? I might not be there to see them make woopie so I do not know.

I'll give you a bit of a run-down of what should happen with your eggs, and alter on fry...
Once the pair has mated, remove the female because the male becomes very aggressive during this period and will probably kill her. Once the babies are born, the father will take care of them, and for about three days as they hatch, return them to the bubble nest for safety. So don't worry if it looks like he is eating them at this point. aAso at this point you should put in some dried crumbled lettuce leaves, and some powdered fish flakes. In 3-4 days the nest will be very small and if you look hard you will see little tiny fish swimming around the top of the tank. In about three weeks the male will start eating the babies if he is not taken out, so once the yolk sacs are gone, this would be a good time to remove the father. you will want your fry aquarium to be about 15 gallons or more, and have about 8 inches of water in it. otherwise in a week or two all you fish will die off. Also you will need to have them in established tank water or they will die if the water is exeptionally clean.(gouramis are used to muddy water) this is what the lettuce and flake food is for. you can make "fish food flour" which is exactly what it sounds like, extremly fine flake food. I don't know if they will eat liquid food though. And yes Infusoria is good food(but you must make a culture of it first) It is also important to keep the tank well covered, and at a constant temp of about 73-75 degrees. if the water gets that film on the top clean it by drawing a piece of newspaper or paper towel across it. Hope that tells you what you need to know. If you have any other questions just ask, because I've breed these guys before a few times.

I see, tyhanks. Can I feed them brine shrimp as soon as they eat there yolk sacs or whatever they do,

In my experiences breeding blue gouramir and paradise fish I usually do the following:

As mentioned above once the eggs are laid remove the female, for her own safety.

Once they have hatched you can remove the male as long as there are no other predators in the tank.

I fed them then first week or so on liquid fry food. Then moved on to regular fish flakes/granules I ground up in a pestle.

I wouldn't feed them brine shrimp as soon as they lose their egg sacs. They will still be a little small at that point. If Skippy says you can feed them liquid food I'd do that untill they are a little bigger.

There are specific liquid foods out there for fry that differentiate between livebearer food and egglayer food. Just make sure you pick up the egglayer food. Although I've used both in the past, i'd rather be safe than sorry and such.

I fed mine liqi-fry, then frozen baby brine shrimp and ground up flake. The fry are nearly microscopic in size when they are newly hatched, it takes a couple of weeks to be able to see them very clearly.
