About three days ago we noticed some ich spots on our goldie's tail so we immediately moved him to a 10 gal quarantine tank so as not to infect our other two goldies. (was this an okay thing to do or should we have left him in the 55 gal tank?) This morning I noticed some brownish spots on his tail that weren't there before. Any one have any idea what this may be. His tank is completely cycled and I have been checking the water levels every day since we moved him. (Amonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 5.0ppm). Also, how long should we treat him for ich if we no longer see white spots? Thanks!! P.S. He is very active and has a healthy appetite.

First of all, moving him to the 10 gallon was a good idea. The browns spots could be from fin rot. Make sure all the other medication is out of the tank, then treat the fish for fin rot.
