I come down stairs yesterday morning to find my DIY C02 bottle laying on its side...a little big but probably not more than 1/2 a cup of the mixture expelled into the tank. Anyways, i did a 50 % water change and hoped everything would be ok. I come home from work today only to find the tank SUPER cloudy and theres this white slimmy crap growing on EVERYTYHING!!! HELP!! What do i do? It doesnt seem to be affecting the fish and my water parameters are still within range. If i take everything but the substrate out and scrub it well and change nearly all the water will it be enough???

Hehe. I can't help but laugh. I have the same post subject going atm in Aquatic Plants...except 1 liter of my mix went in. I wouldn't take everything out. Just water change, water change, water change. I am comforted in hearing that you have the slimy white crap too. Mine kind of looks like boogery, white hair algae. Lovely really,

Mine is still SUPER cloudy after 4 days. Ive been doing 4-5 large water changes each day and would suggest the same:) It should be okay with time.

I didn't get many responses, but you can see what I went through...

Well, ive been looking for a good excuse to break down the tank and change the gravel to sand....i took it all apart and put the inhabitants in my quaranteen tank for the next couple days. I replaced the gravel with a nice clean light grey sand i found at lowes...really nice stuff for 5 bucks!! Anyways, i put my XP3 on it too and it cleared the water up in probably 2 hours...im quite impressed with it!

What the sand or the C02 crap?? Neither have really seemed to make it move around much...im usually right about 7.8 to 8.0 and i tested when i found the cloudiness at 7.8. After changing out the gravel and doing a near complete water change(cycling with some of the old gravel and filter peices) im at 8.0 again. Our water is pretty hard, but consistant.

jeffro426 - I see you also have an xP-3....

I'm not sure how the CO2 container you have now -tipped over- but, don't allow a pressurized CO2 bottle get -tipped over- That could be a major problem!
