you are going to want to get some liquid test kits. and if ur ph is below 8.0 ur not in good shape.

u just have to put food under it and hope it eats it...thats the thing about stars that makes them hard to keep. and why they should only be added to mature tanks.im gonna get some, they just cost quit a bit for all the one i need around the £50 mark. 4 months ago i had the tetra liquid test kits, but they went out of date.
i got the quick test strips, for a ruff idea, just untill i can the the liquid tests.
yes i know its in bad shape, but i have been trying to get it higher.
it just went haywire one day, and i havent stoped spending out on trying to fix the problem.
