help, comet sea starfish is lloing ruff.

also can anybody tell me, when i give it a 10% water change once a week, and clean the filters through, do i change the white pad,
i assume i can notjust wash this through.

clare

Its a deffinate thumbs up from Niko for SaliFert ( he he he he...had to slip that big F in there )....sorry Clare

I would suggest about 10% water change per week, wash ALL the filter media in the tank water everytime you do a water change to stop nitrates from building up on the floss...

white pads? i can think of to many things that go by that can u indulge a bit?

you are going to want to get some liquid test kits. and if ur ph is below 8.0 ur not in good shape.

im gonna get some, they just cost quit a bit for all the one i need around the £50 mark. 4 months ago i had the tetra liquid test kits, but they went out of date.
i got the quick test strips, for a ruff idea, just untill i can the the liquid tests.

yes i know its in bad shape, but i have been trying to get it higher.
it just went haywire one day, and i havent stoped spending out on trying to fix the problem.

so how do i feed this starfish, to try to make him better?

u just have to put food under it and hope it eats it...thats the thing about stars that makes them hard to keep. and why they should only be added to mature tanks.

Clare I agree with Niko about the Salifert ones (I've recently changed to them myself). The main tests you need to worry about for now is

PH
NitrAtes
NitrItes
Ammonia

Those 4 test kits would cost you £26 at the website I gave you last night plus p&p

Hope this helps
