i am having a huge out break of coraline algae is there any way to control it its all over the glass and all over the power heads

Ah, the blessing that is also a curse... Coraline algae.

Certain urchins will eat it, otherwise you're pretty much stuck performing routine vinegar baths for equipment and scraping the glass (an old credit card works as well as anything, especially if you'd rather not use a metal razor blade).

Well, if its on the front of your tank, just scrape it off with an old credit card or something. Or let it grow. I would just leave it elswhere unless it affects the usability of the equipment.

well its not affecting the usability of my equipment its just a pain because its all over the front glass i have a razor scraper on a handle i guess ill just have to get in there and scrape my heart out

Get one of the magnet scrappers and then just leave it on the front glass and give it a wipe down once every few days. It's easier just to keep up with it then to try to clean it up after it gets thick. Once quick pass every few days will keep to clean.

I don't have my reef tanks any more but always thought that it was the sign of a healthy tank. Also, if it grows everywhere except your front glass then it makes your tank look more like a natural contiguous reef.

not dosing calcium or alkalinity and yea form what ive read it is the sign of a healthy tank and yea it kind of got away from me so im gonna go head strong into it and scrape

can you post a pic when ur done? Good Luck!
